Warning: Prepare for Cuteness

Before reading this entry, you should definitely check out the video below. Remember I warned you about Ryan's cuteness.

Ryan is six-weeks old today. He's getting bigger each week, probably because he eats a lot. He is starting to smile at me or David. I can usually get Ryan to smile when I pick him up from his crib in the morning by saying "Good Morning Ryan." That's my next video attempt. I got lucky with the video below. David was singing his choir warm-up to Ryan and Ryan just loved it. Heather, who has already seen the video, pointed out that at the end of the clip Ryan does the furrowed brow thing I tend to do just about every day. That's my boy!

The portraits we took at Olan Mills are online now. If you'd like to view them go to http://portraits.olanmills.com/ the account id is RyanPrice and the password is December16. From there you can select the January 15 session.

Ryan finally visited our church this past Sunday night to see David's deacon ordination. Except that he was fussy and hungry through most of the service so we had to watch from the narthex. The important thing is that Ryan knows how to dress for church. He was ready for the cover of Baby GQ magazine. Here's a picture (though he wasn't quite happy to have his picture taken).

He'll go to the Sunday School nursery this coming Sunday. Thankfully I'm just down the hall because you know I'll have to go check on him once or twice. I'm hoping he sleeps through most of church (but of course only when he's a baby, at the age of five he'll have to start paying attention to the sermon).

Ryan doesn't see the doctor again until February 16 for his two month check-up. By then I expect him to weigh 11 pounds or more. I'm sure dad will take him to work one day and weigh him on the scales before the doctor appointment.

Ryan is working on talking so that he can say he loves you all. Right now all we get is "goo." Still working on the "ga" part to go with it.

Now go watch the video again. You know you want to!

Look Who's One Month Old!

Ryan is one month old today. We went to his well visit with the doctor today. He now weighs 9 lbs 6 oz, so he's gained a pound in two weeks. That's our growing boy! Doctor said Ryan was doing well. Ryan also got one shot today. He of course howled at first, but after I was able to pick him up and cuddle with him, Ryan quieted right down. He's done well all day.

Ryan loves to visit with his grandparents. He's lucky that his Grandmommy and Papa live nearby so we get to see them about once a week. This weekend Grandma and Grandpa K are visiting us, so Ryan will get lots of cuddle time in.

I also took Ryan to get portraits made yesterday at Olan Mills. We had a free package coupon so we made out well. The pictures will be online next week. I'll post the log in information for those who want to check those photos out.

Ryan's next big adventure is to go to church. He'll be making his first appearance at church in late January at David's Deacon Ordination. At that point he'll almost be six weeks old.

Be sure to check out the post below for new pictures.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I'm finally getting a few minutes here and there to update the blog. Ryan is now over two weeks old. It's hard to imagine two weeks have already passed. The first two nights at home were pretty difficult, but we managed. Ryan is starting to sleep for a longer period of time at night (instead of the 20 - 30 minutes we were dealing with).

Ryan had his two week check-up on Tuesday. He did very well. He now weighs 8 lb 5 oz, which is 3 oz over his birth weight so the nurse practioner was very impressed. And here I thought Ryan wasn't getting enough to eat. Ryan's also back to being over 22 inches long (after the cone head shrunk a little he was just under 22 inches). Basically we have a growing boy on our hands.

David and I are adjusting to this parenthood thing. I'm proud to say that I have had a shower everyday since Ryan and I came home from the hospital. It's not exactly an easy task to get done, but I'm determined not to be in my pajamas all day long.

Ryan is a sweet, sweet boy (when he's not screaming his head off of course). We love to kiss him and cuddle with him as much as possible. I've taken tons of pictures already (big surprise). I posted a few pics of his first two weeks below. I'll be posting many more as the weeks pass.

We hope everyone had a great holiday season!
